The BI team works together with internal customers, stakeholders and management to maintain in-depth knowledge of mission-critical business operations, priorities, and information requirements to contribute to the executive planning and decision making process.

The ETL developer plays a crucial role in supporting the reports, databases and repositories necessary to support company-wide BI function. This includes creating and maintaining data warehouses, tools, processes and reports as well as formulating and disseminating results. The ideal candidate will have a history of developing code to deliver timely, accurate, and relevant reporting in a complex environment. It is also essential for the candidate to have a deep understanding of database design and data warehousing implementation.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support database architecture decisions and tool selection
  • Work with internal stakeholders for deep dive analysis of existing reports
  • Design and code reports in Jaspersoft Studio, or similar tools
  • Maintain user hierarchies, report organization and publishing in Jaspersoft Server, or similar tools
  • Collaborate with others at all levels of management to identify report requirements, design features and specifications
  • Identify and escalate issues in the operation and maintenance of database systems
  • Convert functional specifications into report designs
  • Participate in training and demonstrations of new reports to staff
  • Write report documentation for more complex reporting packages and dashboards
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director, IT

You can excel as a Business Intelligence Developer with the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline
  • 2+ years experience in data analysis, reporting, and metrics/analytics
  • 2+ years experience in querying relational database systems, specifically: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • 2+ years experience in visual report development using any platform
  • Strong proficiency with standard Microsoft business applications (Excel, Access, Powerpoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently

Additional skills that would be beneficial for the role:

  • Direct marketing industry experience
  • Familiarity with G Suite business applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Java, C# or Python development experience to augment reports with custom functionality
  • Source code revision tracking using Git
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
